Today I came across this website over at the NOAA and decided to mess around with the puppies because 1) I was bored and 2) I had too much time on my hands and 3) I will have other things to do momentarily, I just wanted to mess with their heads.
I'd landed here at the Ocean Explorer website while checking out the sounds of the sea. You often go on-line and do the same thing, don't you? No? hmmm. Ok then. Neither do I, actually. And none of that sentence was even true. I came across the link at MimiSmartypants. (The problem is, I can't remember which post.)
So there I am, evilly wondering what the dogs would do if they heard a blue whale calling from the depths since neither of them had ever been out on a boat or near the ocean in particular.
Kolby is Brittany's dog, a little yorkie nutcase whom we have nicknamed "Fearless," because he is. The oldest of the two (8 months), he was busy chewing on the very end of Olivia's tail at the time the whale called, and was quite preoccupied with his feast.
Olivia is 6 months old and belongs to Samantha. She's a Pomeranian mix and I'm almost afraid to tell you what she's mixed with. Let's just say it's a BIG DOG.
Rick has nicknamed her "Sweetness" because she is. At the moment of our oceanographic sound experiment, she was chewing on Kolby's rawhide bone, a very good thing because I am awful tired of finding them lying alongside the coffee table gnawing on the wooden shelf to their hearts content. (Hot sauce as a rub on deterrent doesn't work.)
Unfortunately for me, both dogs decided to mess with MY head instead. At first they looked suitably alarmed, so I got my hopes up. I clicked on the humpback whale, and they began to tilt their heads to the right and to the left, tail wagging nervously in anticipation. Then I put on an earthquake sound (which alarmed me), but they lost interest. By the time I got the quicktime player working again and messed with all the settings, they had fallen asleep. Even when I turned the whales on again, only Kolby bothered to open one eye and listen in.
So much for trying to find a payback for all the hassle they're putting me through.
Even though they're not my dogs... ;)

There's product caleld bitter apple that always worked for us. I am trying to get that image of a pomeranian mixed up with a BIG DOG and it's messing with my head even more than whale noises might!

You should have seen my cats when I got an email video of other cats meowing. They nearly went crazy trying to find another cat!!

Oana, no, LOL! Both dogs belong to my daughters. :)
Cathy, Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely look for it! The mom was a big dog and the father was the pomeranian. Hope to get the pics up today!
Judy, I used to have this link for a bird site, with chirping birds that my cats would go nuts over . If I find it I'll send it to you!

Yesterday, I was at Poop and Boogies, and there he was saying he might drop away the writing for the blog.
So I left a comment saying that I already miss enough people who don't write these days, even naming Vitamin Sea, and then I decided to stop in over here, to find that I am mistaken, there ARE a couple new posts.

Middle Son sent a story about a prank in a high school where students let loose three goats indoors.
On the animals sides was painted number 1, 2, and 4.
Authorities used up an entire day looking for number 3.

Okay, that was funny. What was funnier is the number of times I have tried to do the same with my new dog. She was supposed to be a black lab crossed with a lab/chow mix. Uh huh, right. She looked like a lab puppy when we got her at 8 weeks, now at 7 months she looks like a small black shepherd. She seems smart sometimes, but other times, just totally duh.
