You read it here secondly:
As if it wasn't bad enough that gas prices are going through the roof, COFFEE prices are going up also. Miami coffee traders are warning that coffee prices could increase 50 percent or more very soon.
At least with coffee, we can stock up and stick the beans in the freezer, and that's what I'm doing now. I'm a coffee snob, and I do not like my coffee flavored, or starbucked or frappucinoed. I like it to have just enough bite in the morning without any bitter after-taste whatsoever. I don't like it watered down and I'm picky about which brand we buy at home. I get this from my parents. My mom would wrinkle up her nose if she didn't like the coffee that was made in the morning, and my dad always comments on whether or not it's a good cup of coffee.
Now last year, Consumer Reports magazine ranked the best coffee out there, so Rick and I tried their number one pick, the Colombian beans by the 8 O'clock Brand. I noticed a marked difference between the ground coffee and the whole beans. The ground coffee was good, but the whole beans had a deep, rich flavor that sang in my cup in the early morn and woke me with it's soothing dry roasted melody. (are you groaning already???).
This coffee is excellent if you buy the dark brown bag with the beans and grind it yourself at home.
It doesn't rival my favorites: Jamaican Blue Mountain or Kona, (too expensive for everyday use), but it's a real good coffee to pick up from the grocery store.
All I can say is, the very least you want from a cup of coffee is that it will wake you up in time to defend your fish ... so you may need to go for more zip ...

I am totally in love with Community Coffee from Louisiana. It's very strong but not bitter at all. It does cost 3times what I usually spend on a pound of coffee, so I usually mix it 50/50 with a can from the superkmarket. Good stuff.
